Gold hallmark: Just looking at them, vintage hardware looks more yellow than modern hardware. The double C lock must have a gold hallmark.

Types of leather: can be found in lambskin leather (soft) or caviar leather (pebbled calf, textured).

Single flap or double flap ? When you buy your bag be very careful about this feature ! Double flaps are the original designs. Double flaps feature a second flap that you can see from the side. This second flap was originally burgundy red. The Chanel logo appears on it. Double flaps Timeless have lots of compartments which will make organized people very happy. Double flaps also tend to keep their shape more. However, they weigh a bit more. Single flaps weigh a little less and as the main compartment is more open, they can fit more stuff.
